LET, the Jabra Ladies Open 2024 in France

on

The Ladies European Tour is set to make a stop in France for the Jabra Ladies Open, scheduled from May 23rd to 25th, featuring 54 holes at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains. Virginia Elena Carta and Alessandra Fanali will be competing on the course, which will later host a Major, the Amundi Evian Championship, from July 11th to 14th. They are returning to the field after a brief rest.

Let, schedule

Although the top four ranked players are absent from the field, there are still many competitors, among the 132 participants, capable of providing thrilling performances. Notably, five players within the top ten rankings will be competing, including Swiss player Chiara Tamburlini (ranked 5th), Shannon Tan from Singapore (ranked 6th), English player Gabriella Cowley (ranked 8th), Indian player Diksha Dagar (ranked 9th), and Austrian player Emma Spitz (ranked 10th).

Many other athletes have the potential to shine, such as Dutch player Anne Van Dam, Swedish players Caroline Hedwall, Johanna Gustavsson, and Lisa Pettersson, Czech player Klara Davidson Spilkova, German player Laura Fuenfstueck, French player Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, Spanish player Nuria Iturrioz, Swiss player Elena Moosmann, Thai player Trichat Cheenglab, and South African players Lee-Anne Pace and Nicole Garcia, to name a few.

Alessandra Fanali, who started strong with a second-place finish in the Magical Kenya Open, experienced a slight decline in performance but remains close to the top ten (13th) in the rankings. Virginia Elena Carta missed the cut in the last event she participated in, the Aramco Team Series in Korea in early May, which can be considered a temporary setback as she had been in the prize list in the six previous tournaments. The tournament, won last year by Swedish player Linn Grant, who is now a regular on the LPGA Tour, offers a prize pool of €300,000, with the winner receiving €45,000.

The rules of golf are relatively intricate compared to other sports because they are applied outdoors, in close proximity to nature and animals. Respect for the rules is a fundamental element in the game of golf, which, relying almost always on self-control and the players’ conscience, often sees distorted results, sometimes knowingly, but often unconsciously or due to carelessness, due to many players disregarding the rules of play. In addition to the rules, golf adheres to a code of conduct, known as etiquette, which generally entails playing the game with due respect for the golf course and other players. Etiquette is an indispensable component of this sport.
