Kevin Owens, Santos Escobar advance in United States Title Tournament

on

The quarterfinals of the United States Title Tournament took place over the past couple weeks, with Bobby Lashley, Santos Escobar, Kevin Owens, and Carmelo Hayes all advancing to second round matchups. Said matchups took place on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

First, Kevin Owens took care of business against a game Carmelo Hayes, who, if nothing else, proved he’s got a solid place on the main roster the minute he finishes up his business in NXT. Indeed, Owens even paid respect to him after the match.

Later, Humberto Carrillo & Angel Garza made their return to the main roster to assist Santos Escobar in his win over Bobby Lashley. It would seem the rumors of Escobar leading a new version of Legado del Fantasma could be true after all.

That sets up the final, with Owens taking on Escobar at “New Year’s Revolution” and the winner advancing to Royal Rumble on Jan. 27, 2024, in St. Petersburg, Florida, to challenge Logan Paul for the United States championship.
