Not even Jon Rahm could challenge him this time. The Spanish golfer, ranked number 3 in the world and the highest-paid golfer on the planet, finished in 5th place with “-11” strokes in the individual competition, trailing behind American Bryson DeChambeau as well. Niemann’s victory earned him four million dollars, while the team competition was won by the “Crushers GC” team led by DeChambeau.

Joaquín Niemann, born on November 7, 1998, is a Chilean professional golfer. He achieved two victories on the PGA Tour before transitioning to LIV Golf in 2022. Notably, Niemann held the number one ranking in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for an impressive 44 weeks, from May 2017 to April 2018, during which he was also the top-ranked amateur golfer.

Originally intending to play collegiate golf at the University of South Florida, Niemann encountered obstacles due to his TOEFL scores and thus turned professional. His stellar amateur career included winning the 2017 Mark H. McCormack Medal, securing entry into prestigious events such as the 2018 U.S. Open and the 2018 Open Championship. Additionally, he clinched victory at the 2018 Latin America Amateur Championship, earning a coveted spot in the 2018 Masters Tournament.
