“Main Event” Jey explains why he & his brother feel they ‘let the people down’ in Philadelphia.

The brotherly battle between Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso in the City of Brotherly Love was one of the most anticipated matches heading into WrestleMania XL. Unfortunately, it failed to live up to the hype for many. Talking to the Gorilla Position podcast, Jey admitted that he wasn’t pleased with how the match played out in Philadelphia on wrestling’s grand stage.

“I kind of felt like we did let the people down,” said Jey. “I wanted to go out there and have a straight-up banger too. I wanted to do the wrestling part but, let alone make sure the emotion part is there.”

Reflecting on his WrestleMania match against his twin, Jey acknowledged that the disappointing outcome was due to a “time issue,” with other parts of the show running longer than expected. Still, he remained positive and highlighted the significance of their match, emphasizing the enduring bond between them.

“I’m still happy, though. I got a singles match on WrestleMania with my brother. That’s the big picture. So, I’m always going to have me and him in a face-off at WrestleMania. I’m going to frame a picture,” said Jey.

The multi-time tag champ said he never envisioned moving beyond a tag team with his brother, which he was happy with. However, his perspective has shifted, and he now sees the potential for a successful singles career. Jey feels confident in his abilities and envisions himself as a future world heavyweight champion, expressing excitement about his upcoming match against Damien Priest at Backlash and his goal of securing his first singles championship.

While a world title victory would move Jey up the card, within The Bloodline and the Samoan family dynasty, there’s still only one big dog on the Island of Relevancy, according to “Main Event” Jey.

“For me, Roman Reigns will always be my Tribal Chief. I learned from him, you know. He’s the one who brought us to the promised land,” said Jey.
