SB Nation Mock Draft 2024: Jacksonville Jaguars nab Terrion Arnold at 17 (Big Cat Country)

In summary, Arnold is the best first round fit for Jacksonville. He can press opposing receivers at the line of scrimmage and play right away out of the slot, two attributes that will excite Jaguars brass. They’ll also appreciate his competitiveness, which shows up in his ball production and run support, as well as his awareness, communication, and leadership. The team could very well pick a higher-rated prospect at a different position before circling back to cornerback in Round 2 — but why leave the roster hole linger, especially when the rest of the division is engaged in an arms race for offensive weaponry?

Jaguars power rankings: Best uniforms in franchise history (Big Cat Country)

Personally, I love the all-white look with the black helmet. Something about it feels so sleek — it seems like it would make you faster running down the field. The other thing I love about an all-white uniform is the grass and mud stains that appear. I love a jersey that shows some battle scars, and since football is such a physical sport, we should see the evidence of that on the jersey after the game.

Which landing spots make sense for a potential Jaguars first round trade? (Big Cat Country)

The Jaguars may want to move back, add more picks, and still be right in the mix for the second tier of corners mooted to come off the board in this range. Think Cooper DeJean, Nate Wiggins, Kool-Aid McKinstry. There’s some serious talent in the secondary likely to fall later on Thursday night.

7-round NFL mock draft: Dane Brugler predicts all 257 picks (The Athletic)

In this scenario, the Jaguars are able to move down in the first round [to pick 28] and still address the cornerback position with a strong option. [Kool-Aid] McKinstry might not have elite speed, but he’s confident, controlled and smart, which will get him on the field as a rookie.

2024 NFL Draft: Who Do Jaguars Land in 7-Round Mock Draft? (Jaguar Report)

Some teams will have Nabers as the No. 1 receiver in the draft, while others will have him as No. 3 behind Marvin Harrison Jr. and Rome Odunze. When speaking with team sources in Jacksonville, though, the impression is the Jaguars are extremely high on Nabers. If they move up for a No. 1 receiver, I think it will be Nabers. Nabers has the athleticism and yards after catch potential to be a big-play threat from Day 1, and the Jaguars could move him around the formation (much like Calvin Ridley should have been used) with Christian Kirk in the slot and Gabe Davis at X.

2024 NFL draft: Will the Jaguars target a WR in Round 1? (ESPN)

Four general managers/personnel executives have failed in their attempts to land the right guy. The Jaguars have selected 31 receivers since the franchise’s inception in 1995 — including nine in the first three rounds — and only two have had 1,000-yard seasons: Allen Robinson II (2015) and DJ Chark Jr. (2019), both of whom were second-round picks by general manager Dave Caldwell.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, that’s tied with three other teams for fewest drafted receivers to have 1,000-yard seasons since 1995.

Gus’ Tiers: 2024 Wide Receiver Draft Prospects (1010XL)

I want to like [Xavier] Legette so badly but I can’t help being reminded of Treylon Burks when I watch him. The combination of bulking size and straight-line speed is tempting but everything else in his game needs work. Legette also has just one season of high-profile production and it came in his fifth year.
