Horse Tracks: The Broncos are quiet as draft day approaches

The NFL is swirling with draft rumors and news, but the Broncos are staying tight-lipped about their plans and I love it.

We’re less than two days away from the NFL Draft and talks are heating up on the quarterback draft class.

Will Minnesota move up for J.J. McCarthy?

Do they now want Bo Nix?

Who are the Broncos going after?

Would the board fall in a way that allows the Broncos to trade back and still get their guy?

I love this time of year and I believe absolutely nothing is being said anywhere other than who the first pick of the draft is (at this point it is usually pretty obvious).

One of my favorite things about this Broncos front office is how quiet things have been on the news front. Sure, there are a bunch of rumors of this or that, but nothing substantial from Sean Payton’s mouth or George Paton. Unlike the years when John Elway was managing, this regime knows how to keep things under wraps until it is time to make a pick or trade.

I like that we have functioning adults running the team once again and business is being handled in a fashion where no unnecessary information is being leaked out leading up to the draft.

…Call me old-fashioned.
