Honor of Kings Open Series to give grassroots players a chance to make it to the Invitational Series Season 2

The Honor of Kings Open Series is set to kick off its registration phase on April 15. Players will be able to sign up for the tournament in the game itself. Level Infinite has said that the tournament will determine the teams in the second season of the Honor of Kings Invitational, which will happen in the next few months.

Finally, the top teams from the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2 will advance to the $3 million MidSeason Invitational, set to be a part of the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia.

Honor of Kings is betting big on esports to grow the game as it releases globally. The game has announced a $15 million investment into the global esports scene in 2024 itself. Furthermore, Level Infinite has entered into a three-year partnership with the Saudi-backed Esports World Cup Foundation for the game and PUBG Mobile. As a part of this, more than 1,000 esports tournaments will be held for both games in 2024.

Vivo Keyd Stars wins Honor of Kings Invitational Season 1

The first international tournament for Honor of Kings esports in 2024 wrapped up in Turkey with Vivo Keyd taking first place. The tournament had a total prize pool of $300,000 and Vivo Keyd has also earned a direct slot in season two of the competition.

Vivo Keyd faced Alpha7 Esports in the all-Brazil grand finals, an unsurprising affair as the game has been available in the country since last year.

“Honor of Kings is the most played mobile MOBA title in the world and with our global launch later this year, its popularity is set to soar beyond anything we’ve ever seen,” said James Yang, the senior director of Level Infinite global esports at Tencent Games. “That gives us a special opportunity to catapult Honor of Kings into the most popular mobile esports title. We’ve already taken the first steps, including the launch of the Global Invitational Series and our new three-year partnership with the Esports World Cup Foundation. We’re confident that with our determined approach that fans from around the world will quickly recognize Honor of Kings as a powerhouse on the international esports scene.”
