Helen Briem, a young 18-year-old German golfer from Nürtingen, triumphed in the 94th edition of the Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship, held on the Penina Hotel & Golf Resort course in Faro, Portugal. Briem finished the tournament with an impressive score of 271 shots (-18), with the following performances in the four rounds: 67, 66, 68, 73. Her victory was dominant, with a four-shot margin over the second-place finisher, the Swede Moa Stridh, who finished with 278 hits (-14). In third place were the Spanish Balma Davalos Guaita and another Swede, Meja Ortengren, both with 279 shots (-13).
