The Athletic’s Dane Brugler just dropped an appetizing seven-round mock draft. How did the Titans fare?

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler just published a seven-round mock draft. Brugler is one of the most experienced and well-known analysts in the NFL draft world. We went through every selection Brugler made for the Tennessee Titans, assigning a letter grade to each pick with thorough analysis.

FIRST ROUND (NO. 7 OVERALL) | JOE ALT | OT | NOTRE DAME

Brugler does not stray from the common expectation, sending Notre Dame left tackle Joe Alt to the Tennessee Titans at No. 7 overall. Alt and Peter Skoronski would form one of the league’s most ascending left-sided duos on any offensive line in the NFL.

GRADE: A+

SECOND ROUND (NO. 38 OVERALL) | MARSHAWN KNEELAND | EDGE | WESTERN MICHIGAN

The Titans have a sizable need opposite Harold Landry III after losing Denico Autry to free agency. Arden Key is more of a rotational pass rusher. Marshawn Kneelenad possesses the body type necessary to develop into a three-down defender at 6-foot-3 and 267 pounds.

GRADE: B

FOURTH ROUND (NO. 106 OVERALL) | CAM HART | CB | NOTRE DAME

General manager Ran Carthon continues to show interest in cornerback prospects despite acquiring L’Jarius Sneed and Chido Awuzie. The Titans have bigger needs, but Cam Hart is a versatile, rocked-up prospect with a pro-ready frame. You can never have enough cornerbacks, and Hart would quickly supplant the likes of Tre Avery and Eric Garror on the depth chart.

GRADE: B-

FIFTH ROUND (NO. 146 OVERALL) | JACOB COWING | WR | ARIZONA

Calvin Ridley and DeAndre Hopkins will play the boundary. Who will take snaps in the slot for Tennessee’s offense? Kyle Philips and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine are among the current options. Adding Jacob Cowing to the mix, a receiver prospect with terrific short-area quickness, would add competition and depth.

GRADE: B+

SIXTH ROUND (NO. 182 OVERALL) | JAHEIM BELL | TE | FLORIDA STATE

Titans head coach Brian Callahan recently admitted the team needs more tight ends behind Chig Okonkwo and Josh Whyle. Enter Jaheim Bell, a compact receiving-first prospect that reminds me of Okonkwo in the open field. Bell would be a terrific value addition via the sixth round.

GRADE: B+

SEVENTH ROUND (NO. 242 OVERALL) | LADARIUS HENDERSON | G | MICHIGAN

The Titans observed LaDarius Henderson at this year’s Senior Bowl. I’m always in favor of drafting and developing offensive linemen on day three. With the right development, Henderson could eventually get into the mix at right guard with Daniel Brunskill and Dillon Radunz.

GRADE: C+

SEVENTH ROUND (NO. 252 OVERALL) | DARIUS MUASAU | LB | UCLA

Brugler ignored the Titans’ massive need at linebacker until their final selection. The Titans need a plug-and-play linebacker, and I’m not sure that’s the undersized Muasau (5-11, 225). Muasau projects as a special teams ace at the next level.
