on

Roger Federer is in San Francisco to present the 2025 edition of the Laver Cup, which will be played at the San Francisco Bay Arena, at the Chase Center.
Roger followed the Golden State Warriors, met the team, spoke with star Stephen Curry and coach Steve Kerr and even shot some hoops before attending the game against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Swiss also took advantage of the opportunity to talk about the Laver Cup which will be played from 19 to 21 September, of which he is one of the creators, explaining that there are many tennis enthusiasts in this area.

“I believe that San Francisco is a great sports city, especially because of what the Golden State Warriors have done,” said Roger.

Federer got the standing ovation of the Chase Center crowd

After speaking to the team, Federer watched the match between the Warriors and San Antonio Spurs from the sidelines, sitting in the front row at the Chase Center together with the team management.

The Spurs won the match 126 to 113 but when Roger Federer entered the Chase Center there was great enthusiasm among the crowd. The Swiss was welcomed with a standing ovation and greeted every time he was framed on the big screen of the Chase Center. And it was a real standing ovation for him with applause on every occasion in which the big screen cameras framed him.

Federer, visibly emotional, thanked the crowd several times for the long applause he was given.

No matter where in the world he appears, there is never a shortage of praiese for Roger. If a few days ago he was on holiday with his family in Thailand, now the Swiss champion is – as I told you – in San Francisco, for the presentation of the 2025 Laver Cup which will be played at the Chase Center.
