Saquon Barkley claims Giants didn’t give him an offer to return – NBC Sports
“Let me educate some of you fans here,” Barkley said. “I can’t bail or become a traitor if I never got an offer to come back.. so I went to the organization I felt that was the best and after already being here for a month man I’m excited to be a eagle! Go birds.”
Valentine’s View: There seems to be some sort of shock that Barkley never received an offer from the Giants this offseason. This is not news. The Giants acknowledged as much before the start of free agency. Both the Giants and Barkley’s reps knew their positions were different after last offseason’s negotiations. They determined to let the market decide rather than insult each other with numbers they knew weren’t going to be palatable.
