Belichick is believed to be biding his time until next January for openings on teams he has told confidants he would be interested in coaching: the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants.

Narrowing down the Giants’ pool of targets at No. 6 isn’t hard, but who will still be there when New York is on the clock? The Athletic’s Dan Duggan has three quarter backs and three wide receivers in his pool of most likely to be take at their current location, with LSU WR Malik Nabers toping the list.

The New York Giants add two offensive playmakers and solidify their defense in this seven-round 2024 NFL mock draft. As for their last pick on Day 2, they take Oregon CB Khyree Jackson.

Jackson is an alluring prospect because his combination of size and athleticism doesn’t come around often. However, he must anticipate routes better and not rely on his recovery speed as much. If he can do this, he can be a starting-caliber cornerback in the NFL with a shutdown skill set.

This offseason, NFL teams voted to ban the hip-drop tackle. Now, defenders across the league will have to spend the offseason adjusting to the new rule. One of those players who will have to adapt is Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke.

“Yeah, it’s definitely another thing for us to be aware of as defenders,” Okereke told reporters Monday. “You know, it’s tough. They tell you, run your feet on tackles so you can run through that guy. At the end of the day, our job is to get the guy down. You know, it’ll be an emphasis for us in training camp going forward, focusing on that. But I assume it will be an acclimation period for all of us.”

Giants’ Andrew Thomas: Staying healthy would be ‘a dream come true’ | USAToday.com

Thomas described what his status was coming out of last season and his plan for the spring and summer.

“No surgeries, but definitely putting an emphasis on getting my body back to 100 percent,” he said. “Took some time off to really recover and just being proactive about doing my rehab. Even if it’s not bothering me, just trying to do stuff to stay on top of it to prevent injuries as much as possible.”
