on

Frances Tiafoe expressed his gratitude following a career-best 2022 season as he is now accomplishing even bigger things in 2023.

Tiafoe, 24, didn’t win any titles this year but he made his first Grand Slam semifinal at the US Open and he also achieved a career-high ranking of No 17 this year.

This year, Tiafoe finished as runner-up at the Estoril Open and Japan Open in Tokyo.

When it comes to the Grand Slam stage, Tiafoe made the US Open semifinal before falling short to Carlos Alcaraz in five sets.

Tiafoe also enjoyed his best-ever Wimbledon run this year as he reached the round-of-16 before losing a thriller to David Goffin.

Tiafoe reflects on his year

“I just wanna come on here and first and foremost thank the man above. Everyone is granted a gift and I just wanna say thank you for granting me the gift of tennis. 2022 has been such a ride for me. I really can’t put it into words. It’s been a year I’ll never forget. I’m truly thankful and humbled for everything that has come my way this year. It’s crazy because I’m only just starting to scratch the surface. I got a lot more to give to this game and myself. If I can say anything for all you youngins is never be afraid to dream crazy big, because if a guy like me can do it so can y’all. All love see y’all soon,” Tiafoe wrote on Instagram.

Now, Tiafoe will certainly be aiming to do well at the Australian Open.

In January, Tiafoe will be making his seventh Australian Open main draw appearance.

Tiafoe’s best Australian Open result came in 2019, when he made the quarterfinal before losing to Rafael Nadal.

In his other five Australian Open appearances, Tiafoe didn’t make it past the second round.

It remains to be seen if Tiafoe can start his 2023 season with a big Australian Open result.
