Grizzled Young Veterans Zack Gibson & James Drake say they’re coming for gold.
TNA’s been making quite a few moves ahead of their 2024 rebrand, locking up talent, signing free agents, and teasing bigger surprises ahead.
Today (Dec. 26), they announced that former WWE NXT UK Tag Team champions James Drake & Zack Gibson will be debuting for them at Hard To Kill — the Jan. 13 event in Las Vegas that’s the centerpiece of the weekend the promotion will officially change its name back to TNA from Impact Wrestling.
Gibson & Drake are once again going by Grizzled Young Veterans after working in NXT as Rip Fowler & Jagger Reid of The Dyad. The veteran English wrestlers left WWE when their contracts expired back in October and have been working on the independents ever since.
In a promo accompanying the announcement, it’s seems the Veterans aren’t over their time in WWE (and/or they’re using their resentment as part of their act). They also call out The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel) and reigning Impact Tag champs ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey), and make it clear they’re coming for the belts.
