FNCS Grand Finals Preview: Schedule, format, teams, and more

Finally, the FNCS Grand Finals for Chapter 5 Season 2 are almost upon us. Pro gamers in this battle royale will compete over the weekend for a tremendous amount of money. They’ve worked all season long for this, and they are much closer to reaching their goals this season. They now face a tense couple of days as they try to reach the top. Here’s everything you need to know about the competition.

When is the FNCS Grand Finals?

After Open Qualifiers, Bye Weeks, and Semi-Finals, the Grand Finals are finally here for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2. Everything concluded on May 12, and now they will resume play again on May 18-19. You can catch streams of the event on the official channels:

You can also watch it live in Fortnite by heading to Creative Island Legends Landing: 3303-7480-5925. This is the culmination of Major 2, and there is one more Major scheduled for this year, but it won’t begin until June and into July.

Tournament Format

The Grand Finals will have 12 games spread over two days, with six taking place on Saturday and six on Sunday. Scoring will be based on placement and eliminations, with points multiplied by 1.5x on the second day of competition, adding a sense of urgency to the competition’s second and final day. The three top duos will advance to the Global Championship. If one of those duos has already qualified, the next duo on the list will be put in the spot.

Here’s how the money will be doled out for participating duos when they place:

  • Winner: $140,000
  • Second: $90,000
  • Third: $70,000
  • Fourth: $60,000
  • Fifth: $50,000
  • Sixth: $40,000
  • Seventh: $30,000
  • Eighth: $25,000
  • Ninth: $14,000
  • 10th: $11,000
