on

ESL Pro League Season 19 is just days away, with 32 teams descending on Malta for one of the most prestigious Counter-Strike tournaments of the year.

32 teams is much more than most CS2 tournaments, so we’re going to be doing our ESL Pro League Season 19 power rankings Group by Group, from A to D. Come with us to look at who’s in with a chance of taking home the Pro League crown!

Group A

In terms of favorites in Group A, look no further than FaZe Clan. With no Spirit involved and FaZe attending every single CS2 Grand Final, we’d go as far as to call them our favorites for the entire tournament. After winning IEM Chengdu 2024, they’ll be ready to get another notch on their Intel Grand Slam belt at ESL Pro League Season 19. Following them is Astralis, who made a great debut with dev1ce as IGL in China. If it wasn’t just a honeymoon period, expect Astralis to challenge in Group A.

  1. FaZe Clan
  2. Astralis
  3. Virtus.pro
  4. Eternal Fire
  5. Imperial Esports
  6. SAW
  7. Fnatic
  8. 3DMAX

In terms of underdogs, we want to talk about two teams. First, it’s Virtus.pro. Their shock signing of electroNic from Cloud9 shocked the CS world – it’s the kind of pickup that makes a good team great, and they’ll be eager to impress in their first outing. Then, there’s Imperial. We loved their showing at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, and think noway is going under the radar as one of the top young talents in the game right now. Keep your eyes on what Imperial offer at EPL S19.

Group B

Our big favorite in Group B of ESL Pro League Season 19 is Vitality. Yes, they look weaker than they have in a while right now, and no, ZywOo hasn’t been up to his usual best. Yet, on their day, they can still go man-for-man against anyone on the server. They’re followed by G2. They’ve had some respectable results of late, and m0NESY is making the argument that he should be considered the best player on the planet at the moment.

  1. Vitality
  2. G2
  3. Falcons
  4. The MongolZ
  5. M80
  6. BetBoom Team
  7. TYLOO
  8. Sharks Esports

Your underdogs of Group B are The MongolZ and M80. The MongolZ are an irritant for the top teams, and always find a way to make it a challenge, no matter the level of opposition. M80 are an interesting prospect, having recently picked up s1n from BIG. Can he inject the quality M80 need to make a dent at the top level? Let’s find out at ESL Pro League Season 19.

Group C

This one’s a no-brainer – MOUZ are big favorites in Group C. They keep reaching the Playoffs of every tournament they play, thanks to consistency from players like Jimpphat and torzsi. We expect them to come out on top here, followed by Liquid. It was a rough start for cadiaN‘s new roster, but we’ve seen signs of life lately with big performances from the likes of Twistzz and NAF. Get YEKINDAR and skullz online, and Liquid could be a real problem in ESL Pro League Season 19.

  1. MOUZ
  2. Liquid
  3. FURIA
  4. ENCE
  5. GamerLegion
  6. Monte
  7. FORZE
  8. Bad News Kangaroos

ENCE come into Group C as big underdogs. They haven’t delivered on the early promise of this roster, and the form of AWPer hades is serious cause for concern. If he shows up, we think they’ll progress to the next stage of ESL Pro League Season 19. We’d put GamerLegion in this same category. After replacing keoz and acoR with aNdu and sl3nd, they have a lot to prove here. Can GamerLegion show this injection of youth was exactly what they needed to go to the next level? Let’s find out.

Group D

NAVI

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that our Group D favorites at ESL Pro League Season 19 are NAVI. After being crowned champions of the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, they come to Malta looking to prove it wasn’t a fluke victory. Going back-to-back in tournament wins would dispel all the doubters. Up next is Heroic. Their results have been sporadic since the coming-together of this roster, and where better than ESL Pro League to get some consistency back?

  1. NAVI
  2. Heroic
  3. Complexity
  4. BIG
  5. FlyQuest
  6. Ninjas in Pyjamas
  7. Pera
  8. BOSS

Looking at the underdogs, our first is FlyQuest. The former Grayhound roster has put Aussie CS on the map again, and with the backing of their new org, have finally started to bootcamp in EU. This should allow them to improve at a rapid rate, and we liked what we saw from the team at IEM Chengdu. Then, there’s Ninjas in Pyjamas. Still without a proper fifth and playing with Young Ninjas’ BluePho3nix, NIP have had some decent online results since picking up r1nkle from B8. We’re curious to see how they’ll perform in a stronger group at ESL Pro League Season 19.
