Norwegian professional footballer and 2023 treble-winning Manchester City star, Erling Haaland, is set to come into a new field – and this time it’s in Clash of Clans. That’s right, Supercell announced today that the footballer is coming to the game with a month-long event of challengers, skins, troops, events, and more.

The video announcement for the collaboration shows a bunch of troops struggling to attack an enemy base, so they recruit the “world’s greatest attacker” from the real world to help them attack.
The video does show a Clash of Clans version of Erling Haaland, with golden armor matching his blonde hair. This has led to speculation about a potential troop behind the football star. This has been confirmed, per a report by The Verge, as Erling Haaland will become a Barbarian King. This makes him the first real person in the game.
Supercell has also revealed that a “full month of Challenges, Skins, Troops, Events, and more” is in store for players. While little has been revealed about these new features, it likely indicates an upcoming Clash of Clans update with new features.
The previous major update for Clash of Clans came in February 2024. At the time, Supercell added a new spell and levels besides the usual balance changes coupled with a few quality-of-life improvements.
The new spell was called the Overgrowth Spell and it unlocks at Town Hall Level 12. This spell is a unique one as it not only freezes the enemy defenses but also makes them invisible. As a result, attacking troops will ignore the invisible buildings. Thus, a carefully planned and executed attack with the Overgrowth Spell will allow you to focus your attack on specific buildings.
Now, with Erling Haaland coming to Clash of Clans, players are in for a treat with a bunch of new features. The game was released back in 2012, and nearly 12 years later, it’s still as popular as ever. One of the main reasons for this is the constant new updates giving players something to grind for.
