Donald Trump wins his own club tournament

on

Yesterday, at practically the same time and just a four-hour drive from TPC Sawgrass, where Scottie Scheffler retained the prestigious The Players title, United States presidential candidate Donald Trump achieved a coveted victory – shared – in the tournament at Trump International West Palm Beach club in Florida.

The former president, aged 77, managed to match the score of the other club member who had qualified for the final, thanks to a commendable putt. Trump, who has never acknowledged his electoral defeat to Joe Biden, has already won this year’s Senior and Super Senior Championships, but on this occasion, there was no distinction by age category. However, we have not been able to obtain the current handicap of the magnate, although in 2023 he registered a 2.8 in the same event.

It is worth noting that Donald Trump owns 18 golf resorts spread across the world, including the legendary Trump Turnberry – definitively excluded from the British rotation since the US Capitol attack – and Trump International Doral, which will host a LIV Golf tournament in a few weeks.

Today, Trump is also in the news for another reason, as he made some controversial statements over the weekend: “If I am not elected, there will be a bloodbath throughout the country; that will be the least of it [not being elected], it will be a bloodbath for the country,” he declared.

Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is an American politician, businessman, and television personality who served as the 45th President of the United States from 2017 to 2021.

His estimated net worth was around $2.5 billion in 2023. Trump’s brand management strategies, books, and lifestyle have made him a prominent figure, enhanced by cameo appearances in films and TV shows.

As a candidate in the 2016 presidential election, he unexpectedly defeated Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton. Trump’s political positions have been described as populist, protectionist, isolationist, nationalist, racist, or discriminatory. During his campaign and presidency, he extensively used social media to spread unsupported news and conspiracy theories.

In foreign and immigration policy, Trump adopted isolationist stances, imposing a travel ban on citizens from predominantly Muslim countries, advocating for the strengthening of the Mexico–United States barrier, renegotiating NAFTA and the USMCA, and withdrawing from the TPP, Paris Agreement, and Iran nuclear deal. In 2019, he was involved in the Ukraine scandal, and the following year faced the COVID-19 pandemic, downplaying health risks, contesting expert recommendations, and promoting false medical treatment information.
