Coco Gauff confesses: “I’m not thinking about getting married or having children”

Tennis and family are two reconcilable situations. Many tennis mothers and fathers have demonstrated this. Roger Federer won the last three Slams of his career as a father of four children. And look at Novak Djokovic what he did.

It is perhaps more difficult for women to reconcile a tennis career and a private life, but many athletes are demonstrating that it is possible. Serena Williams first, mother of Olympia and finalist of four Majors.

Now, Elina Svitolina, Angelique Kerber, Caroline Wozniacki and Victoria Azarenka are proving they can play at a high level, even after a motherhood or more.
However, they all have one thing in common: they are all over thirty years old and achieved most of their successes before their respective mothers.

The situation is therefore different for young tennis players. Coco Gauff, who has just qualified for the quarter finals of the BNP Paribas Open, has spoken out about the possibility of having children and getting married.

Coco Gauff focuses on tennis

Coco – who is showing excellent tennis on the Californian hard-courts of Indian Wells – explained how she is focused on tennis and is not in the process of getting married or having children.

“Life goals, honestly, I haven’t thought about it to this point. Yeah, I mean, I’m not trying to do anything, I’m not trying to get married or anything like that! Definitely no kids. Yeah, just tennis right now and we’ll see where life takes me off the court,” she said.

The young US star then revealed how she is focused on tennis, sharing with the media what her goals are. Obviously win other Slams, but also an Olympic megalia, perhaps in Los Angeles 2028.

“I guess tennis goals are definitely to win a few more Slams, and I want to win a medal at the Olympics, maybe in 2028. That would be nice,” she added.

Coco then analyzed how the qualification for the Indian Wells quarter-finals happened, explaining how she now feels physically well.

“It was pretty easy and I hope I can continue playing this good tennis. Yes, I feel good. I finally won on my birthday, which is great. Yes, I have nothing to say about the match,” she explained.
