As noted before, it was confirmed on last night’s episode of WWE Backstage that John Morrison has signed a multi-year deal to return to WWE soon. His return was first reported on back in September. Morrison tweeted after the confirmation and said he can’t wait to stand in a WWE ring, opposite of the most talented pro wrestlers in the business.
WWE Backstage analyst CM Punk, who has been off for two weeks but will return next Tuesday night, responded to Morrison’s tweet and used that to praise New Japan Pro Wrestling star Will Ospreay.
Morrison wrote, “Confirmed [check mark emoji] I have signed with @WWE – I’ve never been as good at anything as I am at wrestling & I can’t wait to stand again in a #WWE ring opposite the most talented people in the business”
Punk responded, “Dude, @WillOspreay is in New Japan.”
Morrison responded to Punk with laughing emoji. Ospreay also responded and wrote, “I’m blushing right ngl”
It will be interesting to see if Seth Rollins reacts to Punk praising his former Twitter rival, and if he will take that as Punk knocking WWE. You can see the full exchange below:
