As the 2024 rookie class takes the practice field for the first time, here’s what to watch.

The Chicago Bears have a small, but exciting rookie class for 2024.

Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze are making themselves at home in Chicago, taking in a Chicago Cubs and Chicago Sky games this past week.

But on Thursday, the rookies rolled into Halas Hall to get ready for rookie minicamp which opens today. (Check out the videos and pics below)

Rookie minicamp always opens up the start of spring practices for every NFL team. OTAs will follow throughout May and mandatory minicamp for all players is in early June. After that, the Bears will be off for a little over a month before training camp opens early this year, as they have to start prepping for the Hall of Fame game that they’ll be participating in against the Houston Texans.

Along with Williams and Odunze, Kiran Amegadjie, Tory Taylor, and Austin Booker will also have their first practice reps as professionals, but so will the Bears’ undrafted free agents as well as some rookie minicamp invites.

Rookie minicamp lasts just two days, and the media will be on hand for the event, so there will be plenty of coverage. We will hear from coaches and players, and it’ll be the first time Caleb Williams throws passes in a Bears jersey, albeit just a practice one.

As UDFAs go, many eyes will be on Keith Randolph, the defensive tackle from Illinois. The Bears don’t have much depth at the interior defensive line right now and Randolph has an opportunity to grab a spot on the 53-man roster if he performs well. His opportunities begin today.

Tomorrow’s contributors are today’s participants at rookie minicamp, so it’s always fun to see what names begin to emerge in May.
