Ahmarean Brown was expected to sign and already spoke of his excitement

The start of the Cleveland Browns rookie minicamp came with the announcement of five drafted players and seven undrafted players signing their contracts with the team. We also learned about seven tryout players that would be participating in the minicamp hoping for a chance to make the 90-man roster heading into training camp.

As we noted earlier, there were reports of nine undrafted free agents signing in Cleveland shortly after the NFL draft but only seven were announced Friday morning. WR Ahmarean Brown and OL Jalen Sundell are the two who were not announced as signing.

Brown had even spoken to The OBR about his excitement to play for the Browns:

“To learn from those [receivers] is special,” Brown told TheOBR. “Amari Cooper is obviously one of the best route runners who’s been in the league for quite a while and has been Mr. Consistent. Jerry Jeudy, we’ve seen even at Alabama the routes that he can run and the way he gets separation is amazing. Just to learn from those guys, man, I can’t wait.”

Early Friday afternoon, Brown was also added as an undrafted signee by the team:

As described by Matt Wilson, Brown has long speed and was used in a variety of ways:

Brown spent time at both Georgia Tech and South Carolina during college and was utilized similarly at both places. His long-speed is what stands out most on film, and he was a “gadget” type player who was used on screens, end-arounds, and fade routes in college.

We will keep you up to date as we find out more information on Sundell’s future as well as any other Browns roster moves.
