BLAST and ESL reveal 2025 CS2 schedules

on

BLAST and ESL have revealed their 2025 CS2 schedules, confirming what players can expect from the two biggest tournament organizers next year. Crucially, 2025 marks the end of the partnered teams system, meaning both BLAST and ESL events will likely be attended by a wider variety of teams using Valve’s official rankings and open qualifiers.

BLAST will kick off the CS2 tournament schedule for 2025, with a two-week event running from January 12th. The tournament organizer will host six events in total throughout the entire year, although it isn’t clear how BLAST plans to fit these into its current structure.

For example, in the last few years, the BLAST Premier Spring Final has always arrived in June, but under these arrangements, that isn’t possible. Luckily, we won’t have too long to wait to find out more, with BLAST confirming that concrete details will be clarified at the upcoming Spring Final 2024 in London.

  • January 12th – 26th
  • March 17th – 30th
  • April 28th – May 4th
  • August 4th – 17th
  • August 25th – September 7th
  • November 10th – 16th

Compared to BLAST’s six events, ESL will host eight Tier-1 CS2 tournaments in 2025. These events slot in nicely alongside BLAST’s tournaments, leaving very little room for other TOs to compete throughout 2025.

ESL has yet to confirm the details of any tournament, although, given the length of the events, it’s safe to say that February 25th – March 16th and September 23rd – October 12th will be reserved for ESL Pro League.

  • January 29th – February 9th
  • February 25th – March 16th
  • April 21st – 27th
  • May 19th – 25th
  • July 23rd – August 3rd
  • August 20th – 24th
  • September 23rd – October 12th
  • November 3rd – 9th

2025 CS2 Majors

Neither announcement spoke of the possibility of BLAST and ESL hosting a CS2 Major in 2025. However, given PGL and Perfect World are the hosts for 2024, it’s entirely possible that BLAST and ESL are in line for a Major in 2025.

In mid-2023, Valve opened up CS2 Major proposals for 2025, penciling the following dates:

  • June 9th – 22nd
  • December 1st – 14th

The dates of these Majors, coming at the very end of the player season, proved controversial in the professional scene. Still, you have to imagine that both BLAST and ESL put their hats in the ring for what will be the biggest CS2 tournaments of next year. We’ll just have to wait and see for any concrete news on the CS2 Major hosts for 2025.
