Best Friends blow-up, Shirakawa in-ring debut set up AEW’s Saturday night

The Dynasty fallout edition of Dynamite featured Chuck Taylor picking a side in the battle between his Best Friends Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta, and Stardom’s Mina Shirakawa making her AEW in-ring debut. Those segments, and others, will continue when on the company’s three hours of television on TNT this weekend.

Chuck listened to Trent’s pitch, but Beretta maybe shouldn’t have beaten Cassidy pillar-to-past before delivering it. Taylor told his tag partner to shove it, and now the two will meet in a place and match they’re familiar with on Rampage this Saturday — a Parking Lot Fight outside at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville.

Mutual dislike of Timeless Toni Storm isn’t enough to keep the AEW Women’s champs last two challengers on the same page, so after a couple weeks of being in each other’s business Thunder Rosa and Deonna Purrazzo will go one-on-one on Rampage.

Speaking of the Timeless One, when Anna Jay attacked her protege Mariah May after a match a couple weeks ago, it was Shirakawa who came to her friend Mariah’s aid. When May was attacked before she and Mina could celebrate the former Wonder of Stardom champion’s win over Anna tonight, it was Toni to the rescue. No kissing this time, perhaps because Serena Deeb showed up to state her intentions to take the title from Storm. But we will get Toni vs. Anna on the April 27 Collision.

And while it didn’t get a big build-up outside of some action in the Casino Gauntlet match between Jay White and Dante Martin, that show will also feature the first title defense for new Unified AEW Trios champions Bullet Club Gold.
