Beastcoast in Finals of BLAST R6 Major

on

Despite being the most represented region at the Manchester Major, Brazil’s final team bowed out at 4th place to the Beastcoast fans’ “Send them home” chants.

The NA underdogs may not have had the majority fan split, but they were certainly the loudest.

2-0 again and again

Beastcoast are still yet to drop a map in phase 3 of the BLAST R6 Major. For a team that no one really expected to make it through the first phase, they’ve played remarkably well.

There might have been a 7-3 and 7-5 scorelines but beastcoast pretty much always felt in control. On both Skyscraper and Bank, they were able to hold their own against the team that eliminated G2 and FURIA.

This tournament has proved again and again that you can never count a team out in Siege. It’s a true underdog story and one to remember.

Who will Beastcoast play in the finals?

When asked, Shaun “Gunnar” Pottorff emphatically responded “I don’t care, we’ll beat them both.”

The team was expected to make an early exit by all accounts but they, with back to back upsets stand alone on the south side of the bracket.

Fellow North American team DarkZero Esports, fresh off their 2-0 win over M80 the day before face off against the remaining European team, BDS. BDS themselves felled giants  on their way to the semi-finals.

“To everyone that doubted me and my team… F*** you”

Beastcoast have built their bracket on the backs of Brazilian teams but they’ll have a new flavor facing off against them in the Grand Finals. No matter the result of the upper side Semis, a Brit will be sitting across from them in the Finals server, as both BDS and DarkZero have a UK representative looking to lift the trophy on home soil.
