Backstage Update on Mauro Ranallo’s WWE Status Following Corey Graves Comments

on

Mauro Ranallo has not quit WWE and everything between he and the company is said to be alright, according to Wrestling Observer Radio.

There had been some speculation on Mauro’s status after he did not work Sunday’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view due to comments Corey Graves tweeted during Saturday’s WWE NXT “Takeover: WarGames 2019” event. Mauro also deleted his Twitter account.

As noted, some fans had been tweeting about how Mauro wasn’t letting Nigel McGuinness and WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix speak. Graves referenced those comments in a tweet.

He wrote, “Just for the record guys, I know you wouldn’t know it, but there’s actually a WWE Hall of Famer AND a former Ring of Honor Champion on commentary. I’d imagine they have a lot to offer. #NXTTakeoverWarGames”

Another fan commented on the number of Chicago hip-hop references Mauro made. Graves responded, “Far, far too many.”

While WWE officials were not happy with Graves, he did work the Survivor Series and help call the NXT Title match. Michael Cole noted before the NXT Title match at Survivor Series, which saw Adam Cole retain over Pete Dunne, that Mauro was absent from the show because he “blew his voice out” at Takeover over being so excited and passionate about the show. Cole also noted that Mauro will be back for Wednesday’s NXT TV episode, and that is the word from those close to Mauro as well.

Mauro has not restored his Twitter account as of this writing. Stay tuned as we will keep you updated on the situation.

For those who missed them, below are the original tweets from Graves:
