As noted back in early September, via Casey of Squared Circle Sirens, WWE NXT Superstar Kacy Catanzaro was believed to be leaving the company due to a back injury. It was later reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Kacy was still employed as of mid-September, but there was definitely something to the original story because of rumors going around NXT. At that time, people close to the situation said Catanzaro had not quit, and that she was not injured to any significant degree.
We also noted at this link how Ricochet, Catanzaro’s boyfriend, spoke to Sports Illustrated and denied that she had retired or was injured, but he didn’t know if she would wrestle again.
In an update, the Observer reports this week that Catanzaro still has not returned to training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. However, the belief is that she will return to the PC eventually. Before this, there had been a feeling that her status was more up in the air in regards to Catanzaro continuing a career in pro wrestling or not.
The former American Ninja Warrior star is still listed on the official NXT roster as of this writing. Catanzaro signed with WWE in January of 2018 and then worked the Mae Young Classic tournament that year. She also participated in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match earlier this year.
