The Arizona Cardinals add another defensive back, this one from the U.

The Arizona Cardinals finished off their 12 picks by adding another cornerback, this one from the University of Miami, Jaden Davis.

From Emory Hunt’s Football Gameplan Draft Guide:

Good foot quickness that helps him mirror receivers and also dart around the LOS with regards to blitzing and also defending the perimeter run game. – Solid technique and skill set, able to hold his own vs bigger receivers and some tight ends. Closes well on the ball and is very active at the catch point. – Doesn’t get overly panicky in zone coverage, able to stay patient, read and react then subsequently drive on the ball. Overall top end explosiveness and speed are just at the average mark for the position. When he has to open his hips to turn and run with receivers, this shows up. – Tackling technique has to go from ‘hitter’ to ‘tackler’. Needs to keep his head up and see what he hits.

Davis comes in at 5-9 and 187lbs. He timed a 4.44 forty, with average jumps. He projects as a slot cornerback and special teams player.

Welcome to the desert, Jaden.
