Electronic Arts has revealed all about the twenty-first season of its flagship battle royale title, Apex Legends. From May 7, players will be diving headlong into Upheaval, the latest iteration of the popular shooter. There’s plenty lined up for this impactful season, including the reintroduction of Solos and the injection of a wild and powerful new Legend, Alter. There’s a lot to unpack in Electronic Arts’ latest breakdown, including an all-new trailer to showcase the season ahead.

Becoming Alter
Alter is the latest Legend to drop into Apex, and she’s poised to be an absolute game-changer. Her abilities see her shift between dimensions, pulling items across vast distances or opening up phase tunnels that she and her allies can use to relocate in the blink of an eye. Here’s the blurb that Electronic Arts offered up to describe Alter’s backstory:
‘When Alter emerged from her dimension into another with her past held close to the chest, she had only two things: her interdimensional traveling Void tech, and a desire to have fun. She did what she wanted when she wanted, never needing to for the consequences of her actions. Morality and responsibility were things of the past as Alter traveled throughout different realities, drawn to worlds on the edge of complete destruction. ‘
Many players will be excited to learn that a Solos Takeover is taking place in Apex Legends between May 7 and June 24. This monumental return will see Respawn Entertainment making tactical tweaks to the Solos mode, introducing a few changes that’ll make things a little tastier for those taking part.
Outside of those elements, Broken Moon has had an overhaul, with several points of interest switching around and being amended. There is a host of new rotations, fresh Apex Artifacts being introduced, and as usual, a vast variety of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes will be rolled out with Season 21: Upheaval.
