UFC 300: Pereira vs. Hill took place April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira (10-2) faced off against former champ Jamahal Hill (12-3, 1 NC) in the night’s main event. The fight aired live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.

Round 1: Hill out in southpaw, Pereira in orthodox and the champ kids the lead leg immediately. Hill trying to get the outside foot as they circle. Hill kicks back to the inside of the lead leg. Hand parries for the open stance. Testers on both sides for the first minute.

Pereira holding the center a little more now. Hill eats a body kick but lands a right hand in return. Hill kicking the lead leg now. Pereira right back. Hill trying to hand fight. Pereira taking his time, hill waiting for his moment.

Another low kick for Pereira. Hill looks very comfortable though. Goes with a high kick but no joy. Pereira jab to the body. Very methodical. Pereira catches two straight lead lefts and then lands another kick. Hill goes left hand to the body. Pereira pressuring Hill to the fence.

Hill can’t quite get the range. He lands low but Pereira brushes off the referee!

AND BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!!!!! PEREIRA LANDS A LEFT SHOVEHOOL THAT FLOORS HILL!!!! PEREIRA JUMPS ON TOP AND HAMMERS SHOTS HOME AND THAT’S IT!!!!!! CHAMP STAYS CHAMP!
