AEW Worlds End PPV card: Four more title fights finalized

AEW is counting down to the Worlds End PPV on Saturday, December 30 from Long Island, NY. The card has been updated with four more title fights.

The Worlds End lineup currently includes:

• AEW Worlds Championship: MJF (c) vs. Samoa Joe
• Continental Classic finale: Gold League winner (Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, or Jay White) vs. Blue League winner (Bryan Danielson or Eddie Kingston)
• AEW Women’s World Championship: Toni Storm (c) vs. Riho
• AEW World Tag Team Championship: Ricky Starks & Big Bill Morrissey (c) vs. Chris Jericho & TBA
• TNT Championship: Christian Cage (c) vs. Adam Copeland in No DQ
• TBS Championship: Julia Hart (c) vs. Abadon
• FTW Championship: Hook (c) vs. Wheeler Yuta in FTW rules

Riho was victorious over Saraya on Dynamite to earn her shot at Toni Storm and the AEW Women’s World Championship. Abadon has a chance to rip Julia Hart limb from limb in an effort to claim TBS gold. A pair of challenges were accepted by TNT champion Christian Cage and FTW champion Hook for hardcore fights.

The one question mark about those bouts is whether Chris Jericho will actually have his match for the tag team titles. Kenny Omega is sidelined indefinitely, so that leaves Jericho without a partner. Le Champion addressed the issue on Collision, however, it doesn’t sound clear if the contest will take place on the PPV. You be the judge of parsing through his words.

Three more matches seem like a lock for the PPV depending on how circumstances unfold on Dynamite.

• FTR vs. Malakai Black & Buddy Matthews
• Miro vs. Andrade
• Swerve Strickland vs. Keith Lee

FTR has had enough of the House of Black, so they issued a challenge. Since House of Black is never one to back down from a fight, it seems reasonable to expect that they will accept. With Andrade officially eliminated from the Continental Classic, the coast is clear for Miro to pound El Idolo into dust. One issue from pulling the trigger on this match might be the health of CJ Perry. She is a major cog in the story, however, her availability may be compromised due to recovery from a serious infection. It wouldn’t feel right to have this match if CJ was missing from the picture. Keith Lee’s patience is wearing thin on putting hands on Swerve Strickland. If Swerve doesn’t win his Continental Classic semifinal matchup, then that leaves him open for a date with Lee at Worlds End.

That’s a pretty interesting card as is, and it doesn’t even include Orange Cassidy with the AEW International Championship, the Acclaimed & Billy Gunn with the AEW World Trios Championship, along with the possibility of new directions for Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson if they lose in the tournament semifinals.
