According to SoCal Uncensored, former IMPACT World Champion Brian Cage has signed with AEW. The Machine has been working on a pay-per date deal with IMPACT since his contract expired, which included tonight’s Hard To Kill pay per view in Dallas where he lost to Rob Van Dam via referee stoppage. He nearly appeared in the Casino Battle Royal back at AEW’s inaugural Double or Nothing event last May, but IMPACT commentator and executive Don Callis prevented Cage from performing since he was the champion at the time.
Besides IMPACT and AEW, Ring of Honor was also bidding to bring in Cage, with reports claiming that they were the largest financial offer. No word on when he’s set to debut, but his next booking is Bar Wrestling’s show on January 23rd, where he’ll face indie sensation David Starr.
