Big scare in Spanish D3 last Saturday. During the meeting between Cordoba and Racing de Ferrol, defender Dragisa Gudelj suffered a cardiac arrest after 11 minutes of play. Rescuers quickly intervened on the field. But while the 25-year-old defender is lying on the stretcher, the latter decides to straighten up and resume play at all costs.
Rescuers and his partners finally persuaded him to stay with the ambulance. Gudelj will eventually go to hospital where he is currently under intensive care monitoring. His club explains that his condition is stable and that he will undergo further examinations in the coming days. The meeting between the two teams did not resume after this incident.
