Bayer Leverkusen resist Borussia Mönchengladbach return

on

The 16th day of the Bundesliga ended this Sunday with a meeting between Borussia M’Gladbach and Bayer Leverkusen. Respectively 8th and 12th and therefore residents of the soft underbelly of the German championship, the two teams could relaunch in the race for European places at the end of the season. As the game started timidly, the visitors took the lead after twenty minutes and then doubled the lead just before the break thanks to two former players from our Ligue 1. Mitchel Bakker opened the scoring for Bayer Leverkusen (21st, 1- 0) then Amine Adli scored the break goal against Jonas Omlin, recently transferred from Montpellier (43rd, 2-0).

Returning from the locker room, Nadiem Amiri gave a little more width to the score thanks to an assist from the former Toulousain, Amine Adli (67th, 3-0). We had to wait until the very end of the game to see the locals react. Lars Stindl, returned at the start of the second period, scored twice (82nd and 90th + 3, 3-2) but it was still insufficient to equalise. In the standings, Bayer Leverkusen returns to the level of Borussia Mönchengladbach just one point behind their opponent of the day.
