450 QUALIFYING RESULTS // 2024 BIRMINGHAM SUPERCROSS

Qualifying for the 450 class has begun. Jett Lawrence is looking to build off the momentum from last weekend in Daytona, and after that performance, it seems he will be hard to stop. However, Eli Tomac has more in the tank and wants to grab his first win of the season. Cooper Webb has also shown speed but has been struggling with starts, putting him at a deficit from the beginning of the race. Chase Sexton is also feeling better from his hand injury earlier this season and has the potential to win. The track in Birmingham was wet this morning, but track crews are working hard to make it as good as possible for tonight’s racing. For all qualifying results, read below.

450 SESSION 1 GROUP A

Great at riding in the mud, Aaron Plessinger looked very comfortable on the track early.

Riders hit the track and took a more conservative approach in the first few laps, assessing the track since they skipped open practice this morning, and riders hadn’t been on it since press day. Eli Tomac wasted no time in making his way up to the front, though he did appear very loose in the slick conditions. Adam Cianciarulo was looking good early in the qualifying session as he was able to put himself on top of the leaderboard early. However, it would not last long as Chase Sexton and Jett Lawrence were able to surpass him, both in the 56-second range. Eli Tomac would round out third but was eventually pushed out by Ken Roczen, who had a fast lap and moved up into second. Jett Lawrence, however, remained on top.
