Peyton Manning is one of 13 quarterbacks to win multiple Super Bowls and led the Indianapolis Colts to the franchise’s first world title in Super Bowl XLI.

Only 34 starting quarterbacks in NFL history have ever won a Super Bowl.

Winning the ultimate prize on the grandest stage is a career-defining accomplishment as a gunslinger, which gains exclusive access to Club Lombardi. Peyton Manning is one of 13 quarterbacks to win multiple Super Bowls and led the Indianapolis Colts to the franchise’s first world title in Super Bowl XLI. Tom Brady leads the prestigious group with an NFL record seven titles, including six with the Patriots and one with the Buccaneers. Joe Montana (49ers) and Terry Bradshaw (Steelers) finished with four Super Bowl wins each. Troy Aikman (Cowboys) and Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs) have both won three rings.

Four months after the Colts took a chance on Anthony Richardson with the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, he won the QB battle over Gardner Minshew and then became the second-youngest player in NFL history to earn a Week 1 start under center. The rookie showcased he is the most athletically gifted player on the roster with glimpses of extraordinary breakaway speed and a signature 360° spike after crossing the goal line for a touchdown. The Colts brought back the talent to vye for an AFC South title and clinch the first playoff berth since 2020. Richardson will celebrate his golden birthday on May 22, with goals beyond NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

The health concern to Richardson’s throwing arm stemmed from high school, when he sustained a season-ending right shoulder injury as a senior at Eastside in Gainesville, Fla. He started just one full season in college during his three years at Florida and missed the final 12 games of his NFL rookie campaign after an AC joint sprain required surgery on his throwing shoulder. He finished with 50 completions, three passing touchdowns and four rushing scores in four games during his rookie season. Any potential scenario for success in Indianapolis involves Richardson remaining healthy to reach his true potential for a full season.

Richardson will have a full offseason program to recharge his athleticism and get acquainted with star running back Jonathan Taylor in the backfield. The Colts explosive tandem played just two snaps together in 2023 and their health will be paramount to the success. Colts head coach Shane Steichen believes communication, handoffs and ball security with a zone-red plays are major aspects that the pair will have to rehearse before the season begins. Indianapolis is expected to add an elite receiver through the 2024 NFL Draft by next Friday to ultimately compete for a starting role in the offense.

Richardson is on track to practice in 11-on-11 drills when Organized Team Activities begin, with limited and monitored throwing. Last April, Richardson had to learn a new playbook that was designed to compliment his skillset. What is the Colts ceiling if Richardson emerges with a breakout campaign in year two? The Colts retained 11 of its 15 free agents this offseason to discover its veritable ceiling commanded by its franchise QB.
