We now know the date and time the 2024 NFL schedule will likely be released.

The 2024 NFL schedule will likely be released on Wednesday, May 15. According to Adam Schefter, teams were informed on Tuesday that the schedule is “expected to be released” then, though it’s still not official. Knowing the NFL, there will be leaks and individual announcements throughout the entirety of next week.

We already know a few things about the Detroit Lions’ 2024 schedule. For one, we know that these are their 17 opponents for the 2024 season.

Home:

Away:

  • Packers
  • Vikings
  • Bears
  • Cardinals
  • Texans
  • Colts
  • 49ers
  • Cowboys

We also know that the Lions will not be the home team in any international games this season. There’s an outside chance they still play internationally as the away team, but that is less likely considering the NFC has the extra home game this season.

Other than that, there isn’t much else known about the Lions’ 2024 schedule. We’ve already provided our best guess as to how many nationally televised games they’ll have (they had six last year). But it will also be interesting to see when their outdoor games (Packers, Bears, and 49ers) will be scheduled. Additionally, there’s the potential of having some big-time rivalry games outside of the division, including playoff rematches against the 49ers, Rams, and Buccaneers—not to mention a game against the Dallas Cowboys that I’m sure some Lions players will have circled after last year’s controversial ending.

Once the reports start leaking about the Lions’ 2024 schedule, be on the lookout for our tracker.
