Jets take a CFL cornerback
The New York Jets have selected cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers with the 176th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Qwan’tez Stiggers is a 6’ 0”, 218 pound cornerback by way of the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.
After the death of his father, Stiggers dropped out of college, then played his way into draft relevance via semi-pro 7-on-7 indoor football and a breakout season in the CFL. He has adequate size and speed. He plays with excellent instincts and ball skills. It may take some time for Stiggers to develop, but he has the potential to become an NFL player.
The Jets lone remaining pick in the 2024 NFL draft is Mr. Irrelevant, the last pick in the draft at #257 in the seventh round.
