2024 NASHVILLE SUPERCROSS PRE-RACE REPORT: INJURED LIST, TV SCHEDULE & MORE

This weekend we head to Nashville for the continuation of the 2024 Supercross Series. This weekend is special as it is an East/West shootout for the 250 riders where they will battle head to head in a combined class. Levi Kitchen leads the West and Cameron McAdoo leads the East, but it will be interesting to see how they stack up together. Both classes have fast riders and teammates who will potentially get in between the championship contenders. Tom Vialle only trails Cameron McAdoo by four points and he will have his KTM teammate Julien Beaumer on the track with him. In the 450 class, things will be just as interesting as Cooper Webb and Jett Lawrence are tied in points heading into the weekend and only one rider can come out of Nashville with the red plate. For all scheduling and updates of the race, read down below.

2024 NASHVILLE SUPERCROSS // FULL COVERAGE

DEEGAN BUILDING MOMENTUM

Haiden Deegan is coming off a win in Foxborough and was clearly the fastest of the evening. Now he heads into Nashville with some momentum as he tries to catch Vialle and McAdoo in points as the season begins to wind down. With the West riders coming out he will not come easy but if he can race like last weekend he should have a good chance at coming out on top once again. Potentially gaining many points depending on how the other riders can perform as well.

CHASE SEXTON’S CONSISTENCY

Chase Sexton has been one of the most consistent riders this season. He currently sits in third in points, but having a hand injury early on in the season hurt his chances quite a bit. After healing up from the injury his consistency has been the best of any other rider. Finishing in second multiple times in the last few weeks, Sexton still has a chance to take the championship, given something happens to the lead riders, and Sexton maintains this consistency. Though he was hurt early, he has shown that he is a championship contender.

LEVI KITCHEN EAGER TO RACE EAST COAST RIDERS

Levi Kitchen is eager to race up against the East Coast riders as he feels he is one of the fastest 250 riders in the Supercross series. It will be interesting to see how the West riders perform in the soft East Coast dirt as for the West the dirt is a lot more hard-packed and does not get as rutted. Though the riders on the west have experienced a lot of rain this season making the tracks much more technical as they would be in clear conditions. With a little bit of moisture supposed to come down on Friday, the track conditions may look like what these riders have seen all season long.

INJURED LIST:

AARON PLESSINGER – ELBOW

Aaron Plessinger had a scary crash when getting cross-rutted on the landing of a triple in Foxborough. Aaron attempted to ride the qualifying sessions but ultimately pulled off due to the severity of pain in his elbow. He confirmed this week that he did end up breaking his elbow and will be out for the foreseeable future.

MICHAEL MOSIMAN – BACK

Micheal Mosiman was unfortunately landed on in one of the main events in St. Louis injuring his back in the crash. He will sit out Nashville but is looking to make a return to racing at Denver.

DYLAN FERRANDIS – INFECTION

Dylan Ferrandis will be sidelined again this weekend. He was sick last weekend it has turned into a lung infection and he has not been able to ride over the last few weeks. He is on the mend but still has not confirmed a return date.

GUILLEM FARRES – FEMUR

Guillem suffered a broken femur while training for the Daytona Supercross, he will be out for the foreseeable future.

Team Manager Nathan Ramsey states: “Guillem is one of the most liked riders in the industry that I have ever worked with. I am completely gutted that he had an unfortunate crash while testing at the Baker’s Factory. He is not only tough, but he is strong, and we will support him in every way to get him back at the races doing what he loves.”

AUSTIN FORKNER – BACK & SHOULDER

Austin had one of the scarier crashes we’ve seen in a while when he came up short entering a rhythm section which knocked his hand off the bars and sent him flying onto the infield concrete. As a result, he fractured his L3-L4 in his spine as well as a fractured scapula. Fortunately, his injuries did not require surgery, and he is expected to make a full recovery. We are unsure of his expected return, but it will not be for the rest of the Supercross season.

ENZO LOPES – FOREARM

Enzo Lopes 2024 YamahaEnzo Lopes underwent “Arm Pump” surgery on his forearms, which is claimed to help improve blood flow to the arms. This type of surgery usually takes a few weeks to recover from, but in Enzo’s case, it has been lingering over the last couple of months.

Enzo Lopes said, “Riding for Star Racing comes with a lot of expectations, especially after my momentum from last season. Unfortunately, the cards we were dealt with this off-season were out of our control, and with that, we agreed on missing some rounds so I could be back at 100% soon. I am super bummed, but I know in the long run this will be the best decision for me and also the team.”

JEREMY MARTIN – COMPLICATIONS FROM HIS CRASH EARLY IN SEASON

Jeremy Martin has decided not to ride the remainder of the 250 East Supercross season due to complications from his crash at round one in Detroit. Jeremy is focusing on his health and beginning preparation for the upcoming motocross season.

Jeremy Martin states: “I am incredibly disappointed to have to make this decision but when it comes to my health and my future, it is the right move. I struggled having to tell the team, but they were completely supportive knowing everything that I have gone through.”

CHRISTIAN CRAIG – ELBOW

Christian Craig posted on Instagram that he had been riding with elbow pain throughout the majority of the season. He said that this pain has been progressively increasing. He will be getting some tests done and there is no date announced for his return. Christian said, “I’ve been dealing with elbow pain that’s progressively getting worse since the season started. I’ve tried to push through it but unfortunately, it’s to the point where I can’t hang on after a few laps.”

EVAN FERRY – SHOULDER

Evan Ferry had a crash during press day for the Arlington Supercross causing an injury to his shoulder, and will sit out from racing. It is not clear the extent of the injury or how long before he returns to racing.
