2024 FOXBOROUGH SUPERCROSS PRE-RACE REPORT: INJURED LIST, TV SCHEDULE & MORE
The series is headed to Foxborough for the thirteenth round of the 2024 Supercross series. After a weekend off riders are rejuvenated and eager to get back to racing. Cooper Webb sits only eight points down from the points leader Jett Lawrence and is looking to make up more ground leading into the season’s closure. Eli Tomac finally got his first win of the year after being injured last year and having a slow start to the season. In the 250 class, they head back to the East Coast where Cameron McAdoo sits only two points ahead of Tom Vialle. Tom already has two wins this season and has the potential to take the lead away this weekend.
MCADOO LEADS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND
Cameron McAdoo has not been the most winningest rider this season but has stayed the most consistent. He leads coming into the round in Foxborough but it will not be an easy task to maintain through the weekend. The riders behind him in the series are also hungry to grab wins and anyone in the top four riders is within a race’s worth of points, meaning one poor finish for McAdoo and send him back in the field. Haiden Deegan has. been struggling with crashes through the beginning of the year and needs a win to make up valuable points.
THINGS ARE HEATING UP
Cooper Webb is on the hunt and has been in this position before and come out victorious. Though he did not win in St. Louis he made up valuable points after Jett Lawrence went down only to score an eighth on the weekend. With only five races left, each rider needs to be on top of their game through the remainder of the season. Chase Sexton is also still in the hunt and given the opportunity he has a chance to capitalize on any mistakes made by the riders ahead of him. We expect Lawrence and Webb to both be fast this weekend but not take unnecessary risks to lose any more points between them.
INJURED LIST:
DYLAN FERRANDIS – INFECTION
Dylan Ferrandis will be sidelined again this weekend. He was sick last weekend it has turned into a lung infection and he has not been able to ride over the last few weeks. He is on the mend but has not confirmed if he will be racing this weekend in Foxborough.
JUSTIN HILL – RIBS
Justin Hill had a scary crash in Daytona where his bike stalled in the rhythm sections and Freddie Noren landed on him. He posted on Instagram that he had broken some ribs and there were some irregularities in his vertebrae and that he would be receiving more tests. It is uncertain of his return at this time
DEAN WILSON – SCAPULA
Dean Wilson experienced a hard crash at the Daytona Supercross, unfortunately resulting in a broken scapula. Dean Wilson has posted on social media that he will be returning for the Nashville Supercross next weekend.
GUILLEM FARRES – FEMUR
Guillem suffered a broken femur while training for the Daytona Supercross, he will be out for the foreseeable future.
Team Manager Nathan Ramsey states: “Guillem is one of the most liked riders in the industry that I have ever worked with. I am completely gutted that he had an unfortunate crash while testing at the Baker’s Factory. He is not only tough, but he is strong, and we will support him in every way to get him back at the races doing what he loves.”
AUSTIN FORKNER – BACK & SHOULDER
Austin had one of the scarier crashes we’ve seen in a while when he came up short entering a rhythm section which knocked his hand off the bars and sent him flying onto the infield concrete. As a result, he fractured his L3-L4 in his spine as well as a fractured scapula. Fortunately, his injuries did not require surgery, and he is expected to make a full recovery. We are unsure of his expected return, but it will not be for the rest of the Supercross season.
ENZO LOPES – FOREARM
Enzo Lopes underwent “Arm Pump” surgery on his forearms, which is claimed to help improve blood flow to the arms. This type of surgery usually takes a few weeks to recover from, but in Enzo’s case, it has been lingering over the last couple of months. Enzo Lopes said, “Riding for Star Racing comes with a lot of expectations, especially after my momentum from last season. Unfortunately, the cards we were dealt with this off-season were out of our control, and with that, we agreed on missing some rounds so I could be back at 100% soon. I am super bummed, but I know in the long run this will be the best decision for me and also the team.”
JEREMY MARTIN – COMPLICATIONS FROM HIS CRASH EARLY IN SEASON
Jeremy Martin has decided not to ride the remainder of the 250 East Supercross season due to complications from his crash at round one in Detroit. Jeremy is focusing on his health and beginning preparation for the upcoming motocross season.
Jeremy Martin states: “I am incredibly disappointed to have to make this decision but when it comes to my health and my future, it is the right move. I struggled having to tell the team, but they were completely supportive knowing everything that I have gone through.”
CHRISTIAN CRAIG – ELBOW
Christian Craig posted on Instagram that he had been riding with elbow pain throughout the majority of the season. He said that this pain has been progressively increasing. He will be getting some tests done and there is no date announced for his return. Christian said, “I’ve been dealing with elbow pain that’s progressively getting worse since the season started. I’ve tried to push through it but unfortunately, it’s to the point where I can’t hang on after a few laps.”
EVAN FERRY – SHOULDER
Evan Ferry had a crash during press day for the Arlington Supercross causing an injury to his shoulder, and will sit out from racing. It is not clear the extent of the injury or how long before he returns to racing.
