COD MW3 Season 3 Reloaded Packs a Punch

on

Activision Blizzard has posted the full update notes for Season 3 Reloaded, the next major update for MW3 and Warzone. In it, we get an in-depth look at what’s coming on May 1, including a sought-after weapon, new maps, modes, and some special, limited-time events. It’s a packed update that forms the second half one of the biggest seasons we’ve seen in recent Call of Duty history. As an ecosystem-wide update, Season 3 Reloaded also includes content for COD Warzone Mobile and COD Zombies.

Despite concerns that it’s one of the worst-rated games in the series, Modern Warfare 3 is holding up well to ongoing scrutiny. It has evolved since it was released in November 2023, and plenty of players are still soaking up everything the live-service shooter has to offer. It’s not expected to be a patch on what’s coming next, though – Call of Duty 2024 should be a monumental game that puts MW3 to shame several times over.

But Until Then…

Until Black Ops Gulf War arrives (which is the game’s rumoured title), we’ll have to make do with Modern Warfare 3. That’s not all bad, though. As these updates show, Activision Blizzard (and associated studios) have clear intentions to pour content updates into the ecosystem, and that naturally extends to include Warzone, CODM, and Warzone Mobile.

At the top of the updates table in Season 3 Reloaded are the new game modes: Minefield and Escort. Two new maps are making their way to MW3 as well – Grime and Checkpoint. An all-new Arcade Playlist is dropping, offering high-octane matches that boast some unique attributes and modifiers. The controversial ‘Enhanced Vision Goggles’ are making an appearance for the first time, and many players are going to grind to unlock the BAL-27.

This nostalgic weapon comes across from Advanced Warfare, one of the best-selling COD games. It offers a unique armament that increases in fire rate over time while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Across The Ecosystem

In Warzone, players are getting new equipment, such as ‘Heavy Armor’, and a super-soldier-themed Specialist Perk Package. Activision’s teams have added a fresh killstreak and a variable time-of-day system to the game, which means you’ll experience different lighting and weather conditions during each deployment.

For Zombies fans, there’s a new storyline that takes players into a death-ridden environment to rescue Dr. Ava Jensen. New schematics will be available to unlock, and the new Warlord – Rainmaker – will start challenging players on Rahaa Island in a fresh fortress. She’s a demolitions expert, so expect lots of explosions if you decide to take her on.

Warzone Mobile is getting a special event that’s introducing a new mode, some fresh events, and a unique map feature. Since being released, Warzone Mobile has failed to gain much traction – despite tens of millions of pre-registrations – and that’s because of the game’s performance on some devices.

All these updates are in addition to the usual slew of bundles, Operators, challenges, and quality-of-life improvements. That’s a fair update, no?

Season 3 Reloaded arrives on all platforms on May 1.
