Athena passed an impressive milestone by carrying the ROH Women’s World Championship for 500 days and counting. That honor means the Fallen Goddess is now part of an exclusive club in the annals of Ring of Honor history.

Only two other wrestlers have carried a title in ROH for over 500 days. The list includes Samoa Joe and Nigel McGuinness. Joe actually did it twice with the ROH World Championship for 645 days starting on March 22, 2003 and also with the ROH World Television Championship for 574 days starting on April 13, 2022. McGuinness held the ROH World Championship for 545 days starting on October 6, 2007.
Athena won her gold on December 10, 2022, and she has been the forever champ ever since. The next ROH Death Before Dishonor PPV will likely be sometime in July, so she should cruise past McGuinness and Joe’s TV run before then. After that, it should be smooth sailing. The third ROH PPV of the year is Final Battle in December, and Athena would break Joe’s world title record in mid-September.
