Come hang out during the 2024 NFL Draft with our Day 1 live open thread.
Over 150,000 fans have descended upon Detroit for the 2024 NFL Draft. And while the Detroit Lions no longer consider this event their “Super Bowl,” it’s still an incredibly important event. Lions general manager Brad Holmes has been essential to Detroit’s rise to relevancy, and his best work has been done on draft weekend.
But he’ll have a much tougher challenge this year. Detroit only has three picks in the top 150 as of right now, and instead of having a top-10 pick—like they did for each of Holmes’ first three drafts—Detroit is currently slated to pick all the way at 29th overall.
But Holmes has hit beyond the first round before, and there’s a pretty good chance he’ll do it again.
So as we wait for Holmes to cook, hang out with the Pride of Detroit family right here as the first round proceeds. The draft kicks off at 8 p.m. ET
It’ll be a long time before the Lions are on the clock, so if you’re looking to read some of our pre-draft coverage, we’ve got plenty here for you:
