Golf enthusiasts are celebrating the start of a new season of the Audi quattro Cup, which kicked off its 31st edition on Saturday, April 20th, at the Real Club de Golf El Prat in Barcelona. The tournament series will feature 29 regular tournaments, two Territorial Finals, and the National Final, which will determine the pair that will represent Spain in the grand World Final scheduled for November in Oman.
Competitive amateur golf in Spain wouldn’t be complete without the Audi quattro Cup circuit, which began in the mid-1980s. With over 1,000 tournaments held and more than 100,000 participants to date, the commitment of Audi to a sport it has been closely associated with for over three decades is evident. The 2024 edition of the Audi quattro Cup will commence its regular phase on April 20th at the prestigious Real Club de Golf El Prat in Barcelona, one of Spain’s most distinguished golf courses. This event marks the beginning of a calendar featuring 29 qualifying tournaments scheduled between April and July, traversing some of the finest golf courses in the country.
Similar to the previous edition, each of these events provides an opportunity for three winning pairs from each golf club (Handicap, Scratch, and Audi Customers categories) to advance to the Territorial Finals (East and West). From here, five pairs from each territory will progress to the National Final. Here, participants will experience the essence of the Ryder Cup in a team competition to determine the pair that will compete in the Audi quattro Cup World Final, slated for November 14th to 19th in Muscat, Oman.
The format of the Audi quattro Cup circuit, spanning Spain from north to south and east to west, aims to provide an unforgettable experience for all golf enthusiasts. The Greensome Stableford format, with two tee shots to choose from and alternate shots until the ball is holed, emphasizes teamwork and the pursuit of excellence in each stroke.
