Monmouth University men’s tennis team suffered a setback, losing after an important streak in a hard-fought battle to St. John’s with the final score of 4-3, Wednesday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center.

As mentioned, the loss ended the Hawks’ five-game winning streak. The Hawks will return home for four home games starting with Marist on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Despite singles victories by Mateo Bivol, Adam Hillerby and Alex Martinez Sanz, the Hawks were unable to secure a doubles point or victory over the Johnnies.

Bivol won his sixth consecutive singles match while Hillerby extended his personal singles streak to 13.
