This is the latest novelty endorsed at the UEFA Congress held this week in Lisbon. This Friday, The Gazzetta dello Sport And brand reveal in their edition that UEFA has validated the creation of a “council of wise men”. Made up of 20 personalities, this working group should meet once a year to reflect on the major themes of football.
The two daily newspapers indicate that the elite of football should constitute this “UEFA Football Board”. In addition to Zinédine Zdiane, several other personalities should join the contingent, like Carlo Ancelotti, José Mourinho, Paolo Maldini, Luis Figo or Rio Ferdinand. Thought up by the former Croatian international Zvonimir Boban, now responsible for football at UEFA, this think tank should meet on April 24, at the Swiss headquarters of the European body, in Nyon.
