According to RMC Sport, Verratti is the latest big star to want to leave PSG, following in the footsteps of Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappé.

The outlet say Messi and Verratti are close friends and the Italian has made it clear he wants to be at the same club as the Argentine ‘no matter what’. Messi’s contract at PSG expires at the end of the season and it is now widely believed that he will leave on a free transfer next month.
Barca are currently engaged in a double battle for the signing of Messi with Saudi club Al-Hilal.
But Laporta, who revealed he had a positive conversation with Messi recently, insists the 35-year-old will choose Barcelona as his next club.
FC Barcelona are currently working on a deal to bring Messi back to Camp Nou on a free transfer, two years after leaving for PSG.
But a transfer will be difficult to achieve due to the much publicized financial crisis of FC Barcelona.
Messi is also a confirmed target of Al-Hilal, with whom he has been negotiating a free transfer for several weeks. Al-Hilal reportedly offered Messi a contract worth around 400 million euros per year. It would be a record salary, but Messi would rather return to Barcelona.
Will Verratti join Barcelona?
The chances of Verratti joining Messi at Barcelona, given the Blaugrana’s economic problems, seem slim. But Verratti’s relationship with PSG and the club’s supporters soured after a decade in Paris. He was close to signing for Barcelona in 2017, but PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi intervened and blocked the transfer.
Barcelona are looking for a new central midfielder but the costs of bringing Verratti to Camp Nou are likely to be prohibitive.
