Mauro Icardi Galatasaray

The club from the French capital gave up many elements on loan, during the last summer transfer window in particular, but also in January 2023, with the departure of Costa Rican Keylor Navas in England (Nottingham Forest) for example. All his elements will return to the club at the end of the current season, and Luis Campos, the sporting director of PSG, will have to find a new way out for them.

This will be particularly the case for the Argentinian Leandro Paredes, who does not convince at Juventus, even Georginio Wijnaldum (AS Roma), Julian Draxler (Benfica Lisbon) or even Layvin Kurzawa (Fulham).

Icardi wants to stay at Galatasaray, but…

For Mauro Icardi, on the other hand, the situation is different. The Argentinian, lost at PSG for at least two seasons, lives again in Turkey, in the formation of Galatasaray. The 30-year-old former Inter captain has scored 10 goals and provided 7 assists in 17 games since joining the Istanbul squad. Interesting statistics, able to leave the choice to the attacker for his future.

Indeed, in an interview, Mauro Icardi said he wanted “stay in Istanbul” next season, while Galatasaray don’t have a purchase option with the Argentinian’s loan. The leader of the Super Lig will therefore have to agree with PSG for a transfer, which could be around 15 million euros.

… two major clubs are following him!

Passed through Italy between 2012 and 2020, Mauro Icardi left good memories there, to the point that two teams are now thinking of him for next season, according to information relayed by Foot Mercato. AC Milan, which could part ways with Zlatan Ibrahimovic (41), is interested in the Argentinian, as is José Mourinho’s AS Roma.

It remains to be seen whether Mauro Icardi will be convinced by a return to Serie A, while Galatasaray could have difficulty completing the transfer of the striker, who receives large emoluments at PSG (6.75M euros annually).
