Igor Tudor seals a big blow for Olympique de Marseille. Invited this Thursday to journalists on the eve of Montpellier’s visit to the Orange Vélodrome, in the opening match of the 29th day of Ligue 1, the Croatian coach confirmed the unavailability of one of the winter recruits of the Bouches-du-Rhône club, injured with its selection during the last international break.
“This is bad news”
Touched with Morocco during a victorious friendly match against Brazil (2-1), as explained on our site, Azzedine Ounahi will not return to the field before the end of the 2022-2023 season. Victim of a broken toe, the 22-year-old midfielder has to go to the pool table. “This is bad news. He will have to have surgery. He will be unavailable until the end of the season.” For his 17th selection with the Atlas Lions, only eliminated by France in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup, the former Angevin was replaced in the 64th minute of play by Abdelhamid Sabiri.

Confined to a substitute status since his arrival on the Canebière, the native of Casablanca – engaged until June 2027 with OM, had entered the game in Reims (2-1), before the international break. But this physical glitch offers one less solution for Igor Tudor, as Dimitri Payet’s partners aim for qualification for the next edition of the Champions League.
