After the recent takeovers of Chelsea by the American billionaire Todd Boehly, and of Newcastle by a Saudi fund, it is the Tottenham club which could switch to a foreign flag. According to the British business daily FinancialTimesthe Iranian-American billionaire Jahm Najafi is preparing an offer of 3.75 billion dollars (about 3.5 billion euros) to buy the London club.
The businessman, president of MSP Sports Capital, an American investment fund specializing in sports, is currently collaborating with a consortium of investors to structure his offer, and should shortly approach the owner of Spurs, Joe Lewis, as well as club president Daniel Levy.
